All in all and excellent value.Ĭons: The onboard BIOS takes a while to run through it's self-diagnostic and drive scan / spin-up, etc. Has a Staggered Spin-Up option other cards in this price range do not. Find me another card in this price range that does that. It's from HighPoint so there's a WebGUI utility for Windows that lets you monitor the card and check the status of drives and the integrity of the RAID. Pros: If you're looking for a great, cheap PCIe 1x card to do RAID0 or RAID1 this is the one to choose. Perfect for SMB workgroups up to about 10 - 15 users & PC's. Has won several awards and I can see why now. Unit is double boxed and HEAVY so have help to unpack. My 2550N never had a Toner Save feature either, wish it had. I like that I can monitor toner levels thru the web interface (2550N couldn't). I have installed several for clients and everyone raves about this unit or it's 9440 non-duplexing cousin.
Overall Review: I was able to replace an HP Color LaserJet 2550N & an HP OfficeJet 6110xi with this one unit for about the cost of toner & drum kit and ink for both. Although you can make it work OK for regular printing functions if needs be. Faxes were crisp and clear.Ĭons: Laser printing is via RAW port not LPR/LPD port, so some *NIX systems may not like this unit as well.

I liked the ability to Scan to PC and pick the target PC from the unit. 600dpi color scans over the network into PaperPort 11 (included) worked flawlessly and looked near perfect. Can be configured almost entirely through the web admin page. You can also print directly from a USB thumb drive. I LOVE the 'Scan to USB' function which allows you to insert a USB thumb drive and scan to PDF's on the thumb drive. Has a 'Toner Save' feature which is great for saving toner on day-to-day printing. Pros: This unit is exactly as advertised and does everything well for the money.
